Christmas Eve and Day and New Years Eve and Day

Well, it's harder to keep up a blog than I thought it would be! Just wanted to wish everyone a belated New Year's and Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas. The 2 day holidays are best, since we're way up in Grove City it makes it easier to get around to everyone's house and visit with all the family in 2 days rather than 1 day.

On Christmas Eve we got together with Grandma Charlotte's side of the family up at Aunt Bonnie's, was a great opportunity for us to get to meet some kids that have grown up quite a bit since the last time we saw them and to spend time with the family we never really get to spend time with! We did a gift exchange and had some wonderful food! All in all, was a good day! After that, we went out to Mom and Dad's house, we exchanged some more gifts, had a little leftovers, and got to sit around and talk for awhile, which is nice to do! Then after all that we went out to Madeleine and Walter's house to spend the night.

We don't get to spend as much time with Madeleine and Walter as we would like, but we do cherish the times we get to spend with them. We woke up on Christmas day, freshened up a bit, exchanged some more gifts, and then sat down to a wonderful lunch prepared by Madeleine! We stopped over at Jack and Nilufer's after we were done with lunch and spent some time with them too, it had been a long time since we had got to see them so we had a great time catching up on everything that had happened since Thanksgiving.

After we were done there, we went down to my Grandma Kathy's in Waverly. We ate another huge dinner, sat around and talked for a while and then the kids got to open up gifts. We didn't stay long, and then we were headed back up to Grove City.

For New Year's eve we went out to dinner at Cafe Ephesus, my favorite Turkish Restaurant in the Columbus area. Had a great dinner with 2 old friends and 1 new friend! They also had a belly dancer there for entertainment so we had a great time. Meltem and Derya even got up and danced a little! :) I really wanted to spend the New Year in my New House, so we were forced to drag everyone all the way from Dublin down to Grove City so we could have some drinks, and watch the ball drop! Had a great time with everyone!

For New Year's day itself we went to the movies and watched Avatar in IMAX 3D, and then watched Sherlock Holmes too. The 3D experience was pretty cool, hadn't seen a 3D movie ever since it was the red and blue lines with the red and blue glasses. So this was definitely an improvement over that. It gave the actors depth...literally, and made for a different movie experience for sure. The movie itself was great, a little predictable, you pretty much knew what was going to happen after you seen the previews, but was still told well and in a beautiful setting. Cameron outdid himself with creating this outstanding world from the ground up. Sherlock Holmes, was funny, but not as great as I had thought it would be. Was typical Sherlock Holmes though, you have all of the clues from the beginning and are challenged to put the pieces together by yourself. Definitely a neat twist when you find out all the secrets!

So, another long one after a long gap, will work on getting these done more reliably!
